Pope Francis’ frightening invitation to freedom.

I found this article very good reading for Christmas and the holiday season.  It gives a very good account of where Pope Francis is heading.  The article highlights the often-quoted comment from the Scriptures that the Sabbath is made for man and not man for the Sabbath.  The author Tom Roberts is Editor at Large of the National Catholic Reporter in the US.  John Menadue

A wonderful message there for us to contemplate.

John, Thank you for posting this article. I found in it a strong parallel with the Gospel story of John 7:53-8:11 where Jesus is questioned about the woman caught in adultery. According to the Law, the woman should be stoned. Jesus says, in effect, “Your question is too small: let him who has not sinned cast the first stone”. All thanks to Pope Francis for raising our vision.

Another strong parallel with that Gospel story where Jesus is questioned ….. in affect saying when writing in the sand the names of the High Priest’s as they skulked away one by one……
