It would be useful to know how many lives have been lost, ruined and destroyed by this odious, evil jerk

Bravo, Michael. Very well reported.
Couldn’t happen to a nicer bloke than Rupe. Hope it happens soon. As a former science journalist I mourn the demise of my profession in Australia. In the US, by contrast, there is still a bit of life left in the fourth estate.
Here, there is hardly any way that democracy can function any longer, given the torrent of mis/disinformation in which society is inundated.
The truly shocking aspect of this, however, is how profitable it is to peddle lies. Even if the profits seem down a bit. Someone should do a PhD on it.

Best news of the day. I hope Murdoch takes up your conditional offer of $1 for his debt laden enterprises and can’t wait to see those overpaid monkeys of his given the boot. Won’t happen of course but we can at least watch the ship wreck unfold. My only concern? I’m an AFL tragic and subscribe to Foxtel for the AFL only and would hate to have to rely on the old free to air coverage again. I’d never see my team on a regular basis as I live interstate.

The government will ensure that he survives. They need their propaganda outlet.
I don’t like his chances in the US now, after backing the wrong horse in such a bitter campaign. Our government will give him a passport again and merge his broke propaganda outfit with the ABC, which has been grooming itself for the occasion.
